It brings positive spirits and good luck for the bride:
This henna paste is painted on the bride’s hands and feet with beautifully intricate and worked patterns, not only to make her even more beautiful but to give her good luck and fill her with positive spirits in order to get a happy, healthy and prosperous marriage.
It creates bonds between the bride and the groom’s family:
The Mehndi Ceremony is organized by the bride’s family and it brings together a close group of women from both families. While Mehndi is mainly for the female side of the guests, male relatives are also invited to join the party that starts after the bride has completed her henna ritual.
It prevents the bride’s nerves from tensing up:
Although it has a wonderful meaning behind it, the Mehndi ritual has an ancient goal: this natural medicinal herbal remedies help cool the body and relieve the glooming bride of any stress before her big day.
Shows the love of the groom:
After applying the Mehndi, the bride must wait for the Henna to stain her hands and feet to create lasting designs. It is believed among Indians that the darker the color of the Bride’s Mehndi, the more her husband will love her. So it ends up being a love meter as well as a beautiful and meaningful accessory.
