Between chic Comporta and laid-back Melides, on the Alentejo coast, there is a contemporary villa made for those who want to marry away from it all: Casa das Bicas.
It is 282 m² of house and 1.5 hectares of private garden, with a pool, shaded terraces and an outdoor fire pit, in the middle of the cork groves and fields. It is booked whole, for one group at a time.
Designed for elopements and small celebrations, where the luxury is the privacy, the space and the silence of the Alentejo coast.
Casa das Bicas is a recent build, contemporary in line, inspired by the ease of Comporta — the region Condé Nast Traveller has called the secret beach spot to know in Portugal.
It is surrounded by cork oaks, pine forests and rice paddies, a few kilometres from the beaches of Carvalhal, Comporta and Melides, in one of the most coveted and yet most peaceful areas in the country.
If you ask us, it is the kind of house that lends itself to a whole weekend, not just an afternoon party.
We are halfway between Comporta and Melides, on the Alentejo coast, about an hour and a half from Lisbon. It is countryside and beach at once: cork groves on one side, dunes and the Atlantic on the other.
The golden beaches stretch for miles — Carvalhal, Comporta, Melides — and there are lagoons, trails and the Serra de Grândola for an unhurried day-after.
It is one of the brightest and most serene areas in the country, perfect for those who want to marry with their feet in nature and the sea a few minutes away.
Casa das Bicas takes one celebration at a time, the whole house given over to a small group. The open-plan living room and the villa’s bedrooms serve the closest group; the pool, the terraces and the outdoor fire pit become the setting for the celebration, under the Alentejo sky.
The capacity, always small, is confirmed with us depending on the format — it is a house, not a function hall, and that is its advantage.
For a wedding of few on the Alentejo coast, it is hard to ask for more privacy. Pop the question. We handle the rest.
The Casa das Bicas is a private, exclusive-use house, not a venue with events infrastructure — and that’s exactly its charm and our work. Everything here is built from scratch: field kitchen, power, bathrooms, furniture, lighting. Nothing exists until we bring it, which means the wedding is, from start to finish, designed to your measure.
In exclusive use, the property is yours and your people’s alone — no other event, no shared schedules, no public. Our role is to protect that privacy and, at the same time, fit a whole operation into a villa between Comporta and Melides.
Without accommodation for the full group, we set up the room blocks and transfers at the houses and hotels nearby, and handle the permits and civil paperwork in Portuguese. Yours to enjoy: the pool, the pine forest and all of Comporta for the day after.
It holds up to 60 guests for a seated dinner or cocktail, and around 40 for a ceremony — the right scale for an elopement or a small wedding.

Yes — the villa has several bedrooms and is booked whole, with the core group sleeping on the property and the rest in houses and hotels minutes away. We handle the allocation and nearby options.
Civil and symbolic ceremonies on the property; religious moments are coordinated in the area, if desired.
