Areias do Seixo was born from a dream of its owners, Marta and Gonçalo, with sustainability at the centre from day one — it was literally built on the site of an abandoned chicken farm, reusing materials from the former buildings, regional stone, pebble, glass, and wood.
When a storm uprooted trees along the coast in 2008, the owners turned them into statement pieces for the main house and the houses. Everything here is handmade, considered, intentional: the energy is renewable, the ventilation natural, the food comes from the garden and local farmers. It’s hotel and manifesto at once.
