Albufeira is the Algarve’s best-known resort town, and its busiest. But east of the crowds, where the red cliffs of Praia da Falesia run for kilometres, sits a quieter, clifftop version most people never reach.
The Albufeira wedding venue we work with is deliberately the quiet side: the clifftop east at Praia da Falésia, not the nightlife strip the town is known for.
Pine Cliffs is the clifftop resort Mary Me works with in Albufeira, on the red-cliff coast east of the town and away from the resort strip. About 30 to 35 minutes from Faro airport, it takes weddings of up to around 500 guests, best in May and June or September and October.
Albufeira has a reputation: the Strip, the nightlife, family-resort tourism. That’s one Albufeira. The other is the dramatic ochre-red cliff coast around Olhos de Agua and Praia da Falesia, where clifftop resorts look out over the Atlantic well away from the bustle. The setting we choose here, Pine Cliffs, sits on exactly that stretch.
