Our Process
The Mary Me Way

01
Our First Chapter
Every love story begins with connection. The moment when hearts and cultures find each other.
From our very first conversation, we take the time to understand your world: who you are, what you believe in, and how you imagine your celebration in Portugal.
From the vivid colours of a Mehendi to the sacred warmth of a Haldi or the emotion of a Hindu ceremony, we listen closely, celebrate your engagement, and learn what makes your story uniquely yours.
This first step is not about following a formula. It’s about empathy, curiosity, and presence. Together, we begin to weave your roots, your rituals, and your dreams into something significant, the opening chapter of a story that feels entirely your own.

02
Designing Your Vision
After our first conversations, we move into one of the most creative and heartfelt stages of the journey: shaping your vision. We immerse ourselves in your world, imagining the rhythm of your celebrations, the scent of jasmine in the air, the sound of drums and laughter, the harmony between cultures.
From there, we create ideas that uphold your traditions and aspirations, merging your vision with our experience. This stage is not only about design, but about deepening connection and understanding what truly matters to you. Every suggestion, from the venue to the music, reflects meaning and intention.
We close this stage by presenting our fee with complete transparency, followed by a written summary for you to review and reflect on together.

- Continuous communication to refine ideas with care and clarity

03
Where Vision Meets Plan
When your vision is clear and your hearts are aligned, planning begins. This is where structure meets soul, where inspiration becomes action.
In our first planning meeting, we outline the project, align expectations and build a plan that balances design, rituals and logistics. Whether you are planning several events or one seamless celebration, this stage lays the foundation for everything that follows.
From here, your story begins to take tangible shape, guided by clarity, trust and shared excitement.
What Awaits You
- An initial planning meeting to set intentions and structure
- Creation of a detailed planning project that brings clarity to every step
- A transparent and organised budget breakdown

FAQ’s
Your Indian Wedding, Simplified
Do you have experience with Indian weddings and cultural traditions?
Yes. We are experienced in planning Indian weddings — knowledgeable about rituals, symbolic elements, attire, music, and expectations. We blend the authenticity and elegance that make an Indian wedding unique.
Which ceremonies and events do you cover?
We manage pre-wedding, wedding, and post-wedding ceremonies, including: Mandi / Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, Baraat, Puja or wedding ceremony, Reception, Vidaai, and additional cultural events as required, ensuring every tradition is honored.
Can you arrange Indian catering and drinks?
Absolutely. We work with specialized caterers and ensure authentic flavors and drinks that reflect Indian culture.
Do you provide Indian celebrants and cultural elements?
Yes, we arrange for experienced Indian celebrants, priests, musicians, drummers (dhol), traditional instruments, fire rituals, decorations, and ritual materials (mandap, torans, etc.).
Can we blend Indian and Western wedding elements?
Of course! Many of our couples choose to blend Indian traditions with Western elements, creating a unique, personal celebration.
How long does an Indian destination wedding typically last?
Usually 2–4 days, depending on how many rituals and events you wish to include.
Are there specific décor or colour traditions in Indian weddings?
Yes, vibrant hues (reds, maroons, golds), flower torans, mandaps, rangoli, drapes, lighting, and cultural motifs are common. We propose décor that balances tradition and modern aesthetics.
How do you manage the timing and flow between multiple rituals?
We build comprehensive timelines that coordinate transitions, accommodate breaks, guest flow, and cultural protocols to keep each ceremony meaningful but fluid.
Do you manage religious/licensing requirements particular to Indian weddings?
Yes, where rituals require specific licensing, approvals, or local permissions (e.g., fire permits), we handle these in advance.
How do you manage cultural expectations from both families?
We facilitate communication, set clear expectations, mediate design choices, and ensure both family traditions are respected and integrated.
How much lead time is required for an Indian destination wedding?
Given the complexity, we recommend 12–18 months if possible, but at least 9 months in advance.
Can you manage vendor sourcing in both local and Indian specialist markets?
Yes, we partner with trusted Indian wedding vendors as well as local Portuguese/regional vendors to source the best-quality services.
Can we do a symbolic ceremony if a legal ceremony isn’t possible?
Yes, of course. Many couples choose to complete the legal formalities in their home country and then hold a symbolic ceremony in Portugal — a beautiful, meaningful celebration of their union without the need for local legal procedures.
Will you help with cultural customs, rituals, and explanations for guests?
Yes, we can provide guidance, programme outlines, guest booklets, or host brief rituals to explain to attendees unfamiliar with the traditions.
Do you handle beauty, photo & video?
Yes, we work with trusted suppliers for hair & make-up, photography, and videography, ensuring everything is aligned with your vision.
How early should we visit venues?
At least 6–9 months before the wedding, ideally 9–12 months if travel is involved, so you can preview layouts, decor, logistics, and guest flow.
Who pays for guests’ travel and lodging?
It’s generally expected that guests cover their travel and lodging. Couples may offer upgrade options, partial contributions, or block-rate discounts, but full coverage is optional.
What if the wedding is outdoors and the weather changes?
We always plan backup options (tents, indoor alternate sites, flexible schedules) to mitigate weather risk.
Do you verify vendor licences and manage travel costs?
Yes, we always confirm that all vendors are properly licensed and compliant with local regulations. When requesting quotes, we also ask vendors to include their travel and transport costs upfront, ensuring full transparency and avoiding unexpected expenses later on.
How far in advance do guests need to book their travel?
As early as possible, ideally when Save-the-Dates go out. Some airlines or hotels require booking 6–9 months ahead.
Are there language or cultural issues we must consider?
None at all. We’re completely open and experienced in working with all languages, cultures, and traditions. Embracing diversity is part of what makes each celebration so special.
